NEW COMMUNITY UPDATE! The Engineering Politics Locals Community has recently gone over 100 total members (actually, shot way over 100 members now). This is only made possible because of your support, and I appreciate every member who joins this growing community.
Community growth is just the first step in building a community. It’s great to see so many following my posts, reading my articles, and listening the Engineering Politics Podcast, but the next step in building a real community is engagement and conversation. My vision for this community is not only to host and distribute my content, but to start a conversation between people who share common guiding principles that will lead to productive discourse. In the end, that’s all I really want to come from the work I put into creating content, to build a community where people come together and feel comfortable to discuss hard topics. If that happens, maybe it will become contagious and spread to more communities and institutions outside of Locals. We all know the world needs this type of behavioral change right now.
I would love to see more people comment on my posts to discuss the newest content, post their own ideas for discussion, and even plug other Locals Communities or personal projects. I certainly don’t mind other creators and community leaders using this community feed to help with their growth and engagement because I want to see other communities grow too. The more honest conversations, good-faith debate, and productive discourse, the better.
