I teased this yesterday to the supporters of the Engineering Politics Locals Community but now it’s time to come out with it officially – @ReturnToReason and I are doing a livestream event for Thinkspot. Our topic of choice is Siege or Separation: The Institution Problem where we plan on covering a ton of ground while reading your live comments and taking your questions. To join the livestream, you’ll have to RSVP using the link posted below. Please note, you don’t have to have a Thinkspot account in order to watch live, but you will need to register using your email address.
If you aren’t familiar with Thinkspot it’s a platform created around the same time Locals was created but they do very different things. Thinkspot is more of a forum and discussion-based platform which makes sense since Dr. Jordan Peterson helped launch the platform as an alternative social networking service to fight back against big tech censorship. Sound familiar? Locals was created for the same reason but focuses more on community which is why I love it. Obviously, if you’re reading this, you already have a Locals account so you’ve already taken your first step in creating a more competitive environment to counter the big tech guys, but it wouldn’t hurt joining another social media alternative to turn up the heat. Join Thinkspot today and join the fun. You can find Engineering Politics and Return To Reason on Thinkspot alongside a bunch of other big names. Not trying to brag but our livestream event is featured right next to Jordan Peterson’s livestream Q&A the day before. It’s a big deal.
Going back to our event specifically, you can take a look at the description of our event below:
“Is it time to build new institutions or try to renovate the old ones? We have limited time and resources in our own individual capacities and wasting time on goals that will never materialize is not a good use of that time. Should we build an arc to get ready for the flood – building an arc for a flood is an offensive strategy that allows the bad ideas to destroy themselves – and ride out the storm, or should we start stacking sandbags – stacking sandbags is a defensive strategy implying the creation of a stronghold within existing institutions instead of abandoning them – and keep the flood waters out?
Truman of Return To Reason and Kevin of Engineering Politics hold a live discussion on the best strategies to fight against the mass movement of Leftist authoritarianism and censorship in government, social media, traditional media, education, and private business. There will be a live Q&A session at the end for those of you who want to join the conversation.”
I hope to see you all there talking with us and each other in the live chat and asking us questions throughout the show. If you can’t make it, feel free to submit some questions in the comments here and we can read them off during the live show and give you a quick shout out. Let’s do this!

I was listening to some news updates when I heard this CNN clip about the potentially hazardous water in East Palestine, and as soon as I heard her ask the question about whether or not her guest would drink the water, I IMMEDIATELY thought of this clip from South Park. Enjoy.
In this special episode of The Engineering Politics Podcast, Truman from Return To Reason is back for a new video and podcast series titled ‘Revisiting The Road To Serfdom’ where we review F.A. Hayek’s classic work, The Road To Serfdom. This episode covers ‘Chapter 15: The Prospects of International Order’.
This will be an ongoing series that covers the entire book. We put a ton of work into making this insightful and relevant, so we hope you enjoy watching/listening as much as we enjoyed reading and recording.

In this episode of The Engineering Politics Podcast, I team up with Truman from @ReturnToReason to interview one of the most intelligent and influential creators in the space of philosophy today. Stephen R.C. Hicks is a Professor of Philosophy at Rockford University, Executive Director of the Center for Ethics and Entrepreneurship, and Senior Scholar at The Atlas Society. He has written many books including Explaining Postmodernism and Nietzsche and the Nazis. We bring him on to talk about the social and political issues we are currently facing in America, and the West more broadly, and what the collectivist ideas of Jean-Jacques Rousseau might have to do with it.
