Here is another story I'm republishing on Medium. In this article, I cover the new pandemic that struck us in 2020 which was a current event at the time. We knew little about it then, so speculation around how the virus got out was rampant. There was a particular theory that made sense to me at the time and was even being pushed by Leftist sources like Vox. This was the wet market theory where the coronavirus was spread from animal-to-animal in a live market in China before being ingested by human beings. We found out months after that this theory was wrong, but the horrible conditions in these markets still exist and are perfect conditions to spread more disease. I also debunk a bunch of other narratives active at the time (and some are still believed today).
I'm republishing this article now because it's the one year anniversary of 14 days to stop the spread. I'm no math genius, although I do have a math degree, but last I checked on my calculator, 365 days is a little more than 14 days. But hey, let's listen to the experts, right?
